BDO Ireland is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Consultant to join our Financial Services team. We are looking for someone who is eager to embrace a fresh challenge within our dynamic Risk and Advisory Services Department.
As a Senior Consultant within the FS RAS (Risk and Advisory Services) team at BDO, you will play a critical role in supporting management to manage risk for our clients and helping them build resilient businesses in today’s ever-changing business landscape.
You will join a dynamic team of internal auditors, accountants, technology, and business transformation experts, contributing to the innovative methodologies, technology, and collaborative approach that define our service offerings

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Hold ACA or ACCA qualifications or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institution with relevant experience in risk management, internal audit, and systems/controls testing.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Financial Services, gained through 2 or more years’ relevant experience in the sector.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team culture, ensuring effective communication and coordination with diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Stay informed about compliance, legislative, and market issues affecting client businesses.

Responsibilities:

Risk Management and Advisory:

  • Organising audits, including determining timelines, assigning staff, and structuring the audit process.
  • Supporting the oversight of the audit process, including the preparation and review of audit documentation.
  • Investigating and resolving clients’ technical inquiries.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their business and build long-lasting relationships, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs.

Team Leadership:

  • Coaching and guiding the growth of trainees to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Contributing to the training of staff by leading training sessions.
  • Working closely with Management to ensure effective client service delivery.

Proactive Collaboration:

  • Working proactively, managing tasks independently while actively collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Regularly communicate with management to identify opportunities for enhancing service delivery and offering additional client services.
