As a Cost Transformation Senior Consultant within our Value Creation Services Team, you will help clients identify and deliver opportunities to produce sustainable cost savings and margin improvements across the business, ultimately innovating and transforming their business models and core operations. We are currently looking for Senior Consultants who are keen to specialise in the Consumer, LSHC, TMT or ER&I industry.

We are looking for candidates with a mixture of business, technical, and project-based expertise to join us, working in fast-paced teams with other highly talented, fun and motivated colleagues. As a member of the team you will conduct and own the following:

  • Lead a portion of an engagement (entire workstream on smaller client projects or supporting a specific area of a workstream on more significant engagements)
  • Lead operational analysis and performance baseline exercises to prove/disprove hypotheses, working with functional teams to identify the current status quantum of the client/target business, at times supported by consultant level resources
  • Conduct analysis with a pragmatic 80:20 mindset to rapidly arrive at clear outputs
  • Attend and lead client interviews as required to uncover opportunities for value creation, these are invariably with senior individuals within the organisation
  • Rapidly synthesise disparate extracts of information, both qualitative and quantitative to build a clear set of value creation hypotheses supported by a story that the client can easily digest
  • Provide practical and operational value creation advice to clients using supporting evidence compiled from interviews, data analysis, baselines and external comparators
  • Practical hands-on thinking to solve operational issues with client, in many cases working directly with functional leads in a business to collaboratively determine levers and solution design
  • Uphold quality standards and timelines at all times whilst complying with internal Deloitte risk procedures
  • Build strong and trusted adviser relationships with mid-level executives
  • Field client issues and requests on the spot and uphold the credibility and trust of the VCS team as a trusted advisor on value creation
  • Communicate views and insights (both in writing and verbally) in an effective and compelling manner to clients and your Deloitte colleaguesSupport the Partner / Director / Senior Manager community in business development activities

CONNECT TO YOUR SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business is desirable;
  • Experience within Consumer, LSHC, TMT or ER&I Consulting;
  • You have demonstrated ability from previous work to support a business with operational transformations and productivity improvements
  • You have previous examples of initial problem identification and progressing this through to solution design and planning for implementation
  • Understanding of cost principles and levers to reduce P&L cost across COGS, SG&A and R&D including productivity (doing more with less);
  • Ability to rapidly synthesise issues and themes;
  • Excellent analytical and modelling skills, with keen attention to detail;
  • Excellent report writing skills;
  • A commitment to delivering an exceptional service to clients, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships;
  • Agility to work on multiple internal and external initiatives simultaneously;
  • Initiative to take on new challenges, within a supportive environment;
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving;
  • Proven project management and organisational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; and
  • Perfect fluency in oral and written English.
