Context:
SYSTRA Ireland are recruiting for a Senior Consultant in the Transport Planning Team to support the delivery of a range of exciting sustainable transport projects across Ireland. Missions/Main Duties:
Supporting the development of successful proposals as well as contributing to the effective delivery of projects involving sustainable transport / decarbonisation plans and strategies, network development, feasibility studies, transport appraisal, funding bids and policy & strategy development. Focused in the field of local, low carbon and sustainable transport including active travel, public transport and new mobility.
Tasks will include:
- Support Project Mangers to deliver a range of sustainable transport projects across the business.
- Project manage sub-tasks within larger projects and take the Project Management lead on smaller projects, including control over project task budgets, resourcing and the production of sub-task deliverables and quality control.
- Ensure work produced is technically accurate and delivered in accordance with the appropriate standards; managing junior colleagues in the delivery of project sub-tasks including quality control.
- Support the preparation of technical documents, presentations and reports to a high standard.
- Support the identification of new business opportunities, including supporting with the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions to win new work.
Profile/Skills:
- Broad range of transport planning skills including demonstrable experience of supporting the delivery of transport planning projects within the field of Sustainable and Active Travel.
- Knowledge of the relevant policy context, guidance, and available funding streams.
- Experience in supporting the development of Sustainable Transport and Decarbonisation policies, strategies and plans, multi-modal network development, options appraisal, and feasibility studies for public transport, walking, cycling and placemaking schemes.
- Good report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience of utilising a range of qualitative and quantitative methods (including Excel and GIS) to support the development of Transport Plans and Strategies and identify optimum solutions.
- Experience in supporting the development of proposals and winning new work advantageous.
- Experience of supporting the preparation and delivery of engagement and consultation activities with a range of stakeholders advantageous.
- Experience of travel demand management and behaviour change initiatives would be advantageous, including associated marketing and communications.
