As Senior Contracts Specialist you will provide sales-related Contract Services to MEA World Area, with minimal levels of supervision. Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision, including in:
  • Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests;
  • Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;
  • Takes the Contracts Lead role on
  • Complex international and multi-BU project contracts;
  • Complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);
  • Acts as Global, World Area or BU Contracts Lead for Global Strategic Accounts;
  • Interfaces with customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;
  • Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;
  • Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;
  • Provides contract-related guidance to Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders;
  • Participates in the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals;
  • Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points;
  • Assists in the mentoring and training of Contracts Trainees and Contracts Negotiators

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • 5+ years of work experience in a contracts-related role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Completion of IACCM Advanced Contract and Commercial Management (CCM) Practitioner and IACCM “Oil & Gas Contracting in Practice” strongly preferred
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Excellent oral and written English and French language skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles
  • Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment and freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties
