Description:
SENIOR CONVENTION SERVICE MANAGER
We are currently hiring a Senior Convention Service Manager to join our team. The Convention Service Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the in-house details for a large group and convention booking (e.g., menus, set-up, etc.) The Senior CSM works closely with other CSM’s to support them in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities. Ensure maximization of room and meeting space, revenues, and profit while delivering a quality product. Focus on all aspects of event planning including coordination from the signing of the of a group contract, VIP needs, amenities, group resumes. Assisting in the completion of BEOs for group and local catering. Complete walk-through of function space prior to events beginning and complete checklist for each group; both local and groups. Participate in negotiating meetings/functions rooms, rates, and all related requirements.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing:
- Serves group and catering customers in a proactive manner
- Work with clients to establish logistics of group room blocks, food and beverage, public meeting space, and billing processes.
- Increase Banquet revenues by upselling and growing catering sales.
- Attend BEO meetings including distribution, GRC/Pickup meetings
- Attend trial meal and Wedding events and ensure sufficient execution or the formal hand off to the operations team
- Maintain and log all client communications in the system. \Responsible for prompt handling (within the business day) of inquiry calls and confirming function details with the client
- Monitor group room blocks and pickup and generate detailed resumes for operating departments.
- Forecasting and budgeting Food & Beverage revenues
- Execute strategies with the CSMs as outlined by the Area DOSM
- Ability to work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events/groups.
- Follow up and generating thank you notes to clients post event and prompt follow up with negative client feedback.
- Work closely with the Sales Managers to ensure client satisfaction.
- Resourceful skills to provide contemporary set-ups, menus, and functions for groups.
- Ability to produce artistic and innovative menus while working closely with the Executive Chef on pricing specialty menus.
- Work closely with the banquet department on operations and event execution, ability to consistently deliver flawless events.
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of operations. Detailed execution of all banquet event orders.
