Your new role
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including group consolidation
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and reports to management
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
- Conduct reviews and updates of accounting policies and procedures
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
- Assist with review of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and review and sign off journals
- Assist with the review of Asset Accounting team workbooks and monthly transaction reviews
- Assist with annual statutory reporting obligations, including compiling of documentation and interaction with external auditors
- Support Manager and finance team and provide ad-hoc assistance to management as required
- Assist with project reporting compilation and analysis
- Assist with the validation of input data for budgeting and forecasting
What you’ll need to succeed
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounting role
- Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting
- CA/CPA qualification
- Solid understanding of Accounting standards, legislation and the Corporations Act
