Description:

  • Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
  • At least 12 years legal experience (preferably gathered both in-house as well as in private practice).
  • Previous experience in building and managing teams.
  • Strong transactional background dealing with commercial contracts.
  • High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also a desire to be challenged and think outside the box.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as a business partner to senior management.
  • Good business judgment, especially in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.

    Due to further growth of Amazon and its rapid expansion in new geographic areas, we are looking for an experienced lawyer to lead the legal support for our upcoming Irish Store. This will begin as an individual contributor role, based in Dublin, working closely with the UK and EU legal teams based in other countries.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partnering with and advising the management team on legal and strategic matters, including gathering and coordinating advice in the fields of regulatory compliance, commercial, consumer and competition law, intellectual property and litigation.
  • Planning, advising and implementing legal programs and improvements to support and protect the business.
  • Training employees on regulatory and compliance issues and company policies and processes.
  • Communicating effectively on legal and policy issues.
  • Helping define and implement a strategy for building strong government and regulator relations.
  • Negotiating, reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, including contracts for the supply and distribution of goods and services, advertising, business development, financing and intellectual property licensing.
  • Handling pre-litigation and legal disputes and enquiries.
  • Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
  • A team player and consensus builder with great people skills who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with lawyers and business clients at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Enjoys a challenge and willing to roll sleeves up to get the right result.
  • Experience of working with regulators.
