Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the FIS International Regulatory Legal team to work on a broad range of financial services regulatory matters across the business, including Capital Markets, Banking, and Enterprise Platform. The role requires an experienced Regulatory Counsel who balances a high-growth mindset with world-class compliance and control skills.
The role will report to the VP, Associate General Counsel for International Regulatory Legal & Head of Capital Markets & Wealth Compliance. While the focus of the role will predominantly be on the EU region, the successful candidate will also be expected to support on financial services regulatory issues in the UK and other countries internationally.
Key responsibilities include
- Acting as a trusted partner to FIS regulated entities in the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg, supporting across all regulatory legal matters impacting these entities and providing proactive and strategic advice to protect the business.
- Supporting the business to grow responsibly in the EU and internationally, advising on evolving financial services regulations impacting FIS products and services, regulatory risks and opportunities in connection with strategic expansion into new geographies, and leading on regulatory licensing processes.
- Partnering with colleagues from Regulatory Relations and in-country Compliance Officers in relation to engagements with regulators and regulatory examinations/inspections.
- Advising colleagues in Financial Crime Compliance on AML and Sanctions issues.
- Proactively identifying emerging regulations and advising on their potential impacts to FIS businesses.
- Supporting enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, providing regulatory subject matter expertise as required e.g. Artificial Intelligence (EU AI Act) and the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act.
