Responsibilities:

The Senior Corporate Development & M&A Manager is responsible for co-leading the development of the overall Vodafone UK organic and inorganic business/corporate development strategy by identifying, considering, reviewing, and recommending selected merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities and commercial partnerships.

The role holder will actively engage with key stakeholders (Commercial, Technology, Networks, etc.) and other 3rd parties (investment banks, etc.) on quantifying opportunities by developing the underlying business case, assessing strategic rationale, and developing actionable recommendations for the UK General Management Team (“GMT” or “the UK board”). Key accountabilities include:

  • Leading and managing end-to-end delivery of organic and inorganic business/corporate development projects, developing robust quantitative and qualitative fact based recommendations / proposals for GMT review
  • Developing supporting business case underpinning key organic or inorganic opportunities, including appropriate approach for complex financial modelling, standalone valuation, and synergy valuation (as necessary), considering market context
  • Performing comprehensive due diligence of organic and inorganic opportunities, including challenging financial & commercial information received to ensure rigour, consistency and integrity, and supervising input from external advisors
  • Supporting / leading negotiations with counterparties on commercial organic and inorganic constructs, in addition to key deal parameters (legal, financial, operational)
