About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer to join our team and contribute to our success at AGL! You will help AGL achieve its strategic objectives and manage legal risk through the independent and timely provision of legal services and advice. This role will focus predominantly on technology and corporate procurement related legal matters.
What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Group Counsel – Technology & Telecommunications, you will:

  • Provide strategic, actionable advice to support Technology, Corporate Procurement, and Telecommunications teams, protecting AGL’s legal position.
  • Support AGL’s retail transformation program to simplify operations and deliver a leading digital customer experience.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise Corporate Lawyers.
  • Collaborate with the Legal Team and assist with cross-over and overflow work.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, including technology contracts, general contract law, intellectual property, privacy, AI, cyber security and security of critical infrastructure.

About you
You will be an experienced corporate lawyer, who is a team player and brings strong stakeholder management skills. You will have a strong work ethic and have the independence to manage your own portfolio. Experience working on large and complex projects will be ideal.

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Relevant top tier and/or in house experience in a Senior Corporate Lawyer role supporting the Technology and Corporate Procurement business units.
  • Ability to lead complex legal matters across Technology and Corporate Procurement. Telecommunications experience is desirable.
  • Ability to lead business change in response to changes in the regulatory and commercial environment.
  • Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent and admitted to practice in Australia.
