The individual in this role will have:

  • BSc in Chemistry or Engineering or Chemical or Engineering Technologist minimum.
  • 5+ years of relevant corrosion experience preferred.
  • Oil and Gas production chemicals experienced is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports is a must.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • A valid Class 5 drivers’ license

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

SECURE’s Fluids Management lab in Edmonton has an immediate opening for a Senior Corrosion Technologist/Scientist. This individual would be responsible for the development and performance testing of chemical corrosion inhibitors by using high-temperature/pressure autoclaves, RCE and LPR equipment under both sweet and sour conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • The operation and the interpretation of HT/LP autoclaves, RCE (Rotating Cylinder Electrode) and LPR/Bubble corrosion inhibitor test results.
  • Evaluation of H2S scavengers
  • Development and evaluation of new corrosion inhibitor chemistries
  • Provide Technical support to technical staff and sales staff on the topics of corrosion inhibition and testing procedures.
  • Ensure that all SOPs are followed and up to date in accordance with Secure’s safety policies, ASTM and AMPP standards.
  • Write technical reports and proposals.
  • Handling of gas cylinders, including H2S gas
  • Corrosion inhibitor residual testing
