Description:

A lesser qualification with at least 4 years’ experience in a Finance environment.

  • A high degree of computer literacy with the capability to operate mainframe and micro based systems with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • An ability to interact positively and assertively with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the Company.
  • The capability to highlight discipline problems and take appropriate action to ensure the accuracy of the costing information

Responsibilities:

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT TO ENSURE THAT SUFFICIENT DETAIL IS PROVIDED ON THE APPLICATION FORM TO DEMONSTRATE HOW THE APPLICANT MEETS ESSENTIAL JOB CRITERIA, AS THIS ALONE WILL BE USED FOR VETTING PURPOSES.

Candidates must have:

  • A minimum of an Accounting Technician Qualification with 3 years’ experience in a Finance environment.

OR

A lesser qualification with at least 4 years’ experience in a Finance environment.

  • A high degree of computer literacy with the capability to operate mainframe and micro based systems with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • An ability to interact positively and assertively with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the Company.
  • The capability to highlight discipline problems and take appropriate action to ensure the accuracy of the costing information.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete analysis of data from financial sources to establish integrity, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Ensure all month end deadlines are met in relation to source transactional information, reports, and analysis.
  • Liaise with functional contacts to resolve any queries and enable an understanding of financial data as represented in the published results.
  • Continue to drive towards improved reporting by introducing efficiencies into relevant processes.
  • Maintain associated SOX controls.
  • Liaise with external bodies in relation to statutory reporting requirements (e.g. external auditors, government bodies).
  • Participate in the development and continual improvement of all management information systems and preparation for future new systems.
  • Create, develop, and review the effectiveness of control measures necessary to assure the quality of contract cost analyses.
  • Participate as required in the annual stock audit
