The Opportunity:
The Senior /Cost Engineer is responsible for analysing project data and creating detailed cost estimates. This includes assessing the cost of labour, materials, equipment, and other resources within the QS team. Cost Engineers work closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, stakeholders and other QS team members to ensure that projects are completed within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including the handling of any claims to ensure the client gets best value from works undertaken
  • Support project management with clear decisions through excellent cost documentation and timely communication running what if scenarios
  • Support the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency #Interact with the engineering team, procurement, quality, manufacturing, marketing, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate project activities with various functions such as marketing, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Perform quantity surveys from construction documents and physical site inspections.
  • Analyze construction cost data and design drawings.
  • Anticipate cost overages and prepare cost exception reports.
  • Calculate part prices and tooling investments for new and ongoing projects.
  • Provide support during change management processes.
  • Communicate technical updates to suppliers related to cost drivers and investments.
  • Conduct frequent visits to suppliers and technical exhibitions to stay informed about product methods and materials.
