The Project
The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.

Key accountabilities for the position

  • Support Project Managers with progress claim assessment, pricing schedule
  • Development, tender evaluation, contractor change assessment and contract financial close out.
  • Consolidate and produce monthly reports for projects in conjunction with the Project team.
  • Produce monthly tracking information against budget to meet Finance Team requirements.
  • Finance in conjunction with Planner and Project Manager and Project
  • Participate in Project and Program monthly report reviews
  • Support development of standard cost control procedures, guidelines, templates, coding etc. to allow consistent cost management and reporting across the cost control team and support compliance to the standards.
  • Create and maintain project cost reports projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist optimisation of portfolio level reporting by integrating the common work breakdown structure, coding, forecasting methods etc. across projects
  • Assist Project Managers in decision making by constantly monitoring budget and expenditure changes, as well as providing regular updates of project status

Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and delivery across the Alliance

Required Skills and Competencies

  • A tertiary education background in Finance/Accounting, Engineering/Construction or similar highly desirable
  • Highly developed and effective communication skills
  • Solid experience performing in a similar role ideally in the construction, energy, oil and gas, or mining industries
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment with a flexible approach to your work
