Job Description
Job Summary:
The Credit Bureau Dispute Specialist Senior will be assigned to manage the following processes as needed: Indirect and/or Direct Dispute Investigations, Credit Reporting Agency Rejects, CBR control reports, as well as any manual updates. Will be responsible for highlighting any potential reporting logic concerns identified during investigation of disputes. In addition, they will offer team support, show the ability to train, update Policies and Procedures, Projects as assigned, Handle escalation scenarios and back up manager when out. The Senior Specialist role is fully proficient with all Credit Bureau functions. They are a self-starter and one that proactively identifies efficiencies to be gained in the Credit Bureau processes.

Job Duties:

  • Investigate and respond accurately and timely to all type credit bureau disputes and/or Investigate in accordance with FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) and the CRRG (Credit Reporting Resource Guide). Make appropriate corrections to accounts as applicable.
  • Analyze credit reporting logic exceptions/credit bureau rejects to identify root cause, solution and remediate.
  • Update Credit Bureau Procedures to ensure accuracy with process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of CDIA (Consumer Data Industry Association) guidelines for reporting and responding to disputes, including Metro2 knowledge according to the CRRG (Credit Reporting Resource Guide).
  • Provide required regulatory/process training to team as assigned.
  • Resolve complaints received by CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and BBB (Better Business Bureau).
  • Ensures compliance with Exeter’s policies & procedures, job aids, safety, state and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned/ required.

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Previous auto finance experience preferred
  • Previous experience in Credit Bureau Reporting and Disputes preferred
  • Previous experience with the eOscar Dispute software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project solving skills
  • 1-2 years of work-related experience, in the finance or credit related industry preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of Credit Bureau Experience
  • Able to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong team player with a high level of professionalism and initiative
