Senior Data Analyst - Business Intelligence

The Opportunity
The role is conveniently based at our client’s Head Office in Sydney CBD. They are the leader in their field and have been in business for 25 years. They are seeking someone who is commercially focused and passionate about supporting the business through creating Power BI reporting dashboards to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable business insights and recommendations, presented through clear and effective data visualisations and reports.

Your duties will include

• Collect, organise, and analyse data from various sources to identify trends and patterns, and apply mathematical, statistical, and other data-driven analysis to support business solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain executive and business dashboards to visualize key data points. Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and insights.
• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders to design effective reporting solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data sources, business processes, and reporting needs.
• Create data models and establish data relationships to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that solutions meet business goals and deliver value. Provide training and support to end users on how to effectively use Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Support data queries in relation to the ERP and find where the issue is coming from. Managing data integrity as required.

About you

• Strong proficiency in data visualization tools and proven experience (5+ years) in developing interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
• Solid understanding of business processes and KPIs across various departments.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality and accurate reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Relevant certifications in Power BI or business analysis (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) is highly regarded.
