Job Summary
The senior analyst position will be under the direction of the Applied Analytics and Insights (AAI) team, which is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting applied data analytics at Continental Resources. The senior analyst will be responsible for the implementation and development of ETL processes, data pipelines, and databases for the AAI team. This position will utilize SQL, Safe Software (FME), Databricks, and other supporting software to improve efficiency and effectiveness of solution delivery within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement structured SQL data-tables to capture model and economic scenario outputs for the AAI team.
- Develop data organization and retention standards for AAI Team.
- Analyze current operational processes to design and build automated data pipelines to reduce manual workflows.
- Build Spotfire dashboards and ArcGIS portal maps/apps for data delivery, collaboration, and analytics.
- Reduce the dependency of the organization on redundant excel workbooks and shape files for analytic workflows through the development of enterprise solutions.
- Work to enrich current datasets in the AAI database by identifying, cleansing, and filling gaps.
- Mentor and train new or less skilled AAI Analysts on technologies such as, but not limited to, FME, SQL, Databricks, and Spotfire.
- Build relationships and solutions with business customers that span across the organization.
- Champion efforts to establish corporate standards for foundational datasets and define best practices for implementing AAI solutions.
- Utilize Big Data infrastructure along with spatial data to create ready-to-use datasets for Analytics projects.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to streamline data delivery and dissemination across the organization.
- Perform data capture processes as necessary to support analytics efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
- Intermediate skills with data & analytics applications; including Spotfire, Power BI, Databricks, and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Intermediate knowledge of data modeling and data integration principles and techniques.
- Intermediate-level programming skills capable of retrieving data using basic and some advanced techniques with SQL, FME, VBA, Python, and R.
- Database development expertise.
- Aptitude to learn new concepts and technologies quickly and with minimal direction.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Data Management, or other related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience within the Oil and Gas industry working as a Data Analyst, Engineering Tech, Engineering Specialist, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, IT Analyst, or related role.
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Science/Management, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with large, complex initiatives, designing and implementing enterprise solutions.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity is sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
