REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in quantitative (analytics, statistics, economics, mathematics) or related field; An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Significant relevant experience with approaches and methodology for data analytics and using business intelligence to solve business problems
• Proven leadership of business intelligence and analytic initiatives in fast paced, multiple project environment
• Experience and proficiency using visual analytic tools (for example: Tableau, Power BI, JMP, R) in data storytelling to support strategic change
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, both technical and non-technical team members (ensure team members understand the info/data, understand what people want; translate and demystify data)
• Proven ability to coordinate, gather and synthesize data from multiple stakeholders, divisions and departments to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Significant relevant experience in business analytics in a large organization with multiple interrelated Enterprise systems
• Experience with statistical methods and techniques (predictive modeling, segmentation, regression, etc.) and use of business intelligence tools (for example: Cognos, SAS, SPSS)
• Advanced knowledge in working with big data and applied experience with the use of programming language SQL for use in business analysis and testing efforts
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of team and resolve issues
• Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the post-secondary educational sector
• Experience working with and supporting data governance
• Experience working on teams to design and build data systems (data warehouses, data lakes, etc.)

The Senior Data Analyst provides leadership and support for data-informed decision making within the academic portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Services and Global Partnerships, they will work with all levels of the academic portfolio to help build our capacity to use, understand, interrogate, and glean insights from our data. They will work with Information Technology Solutions (ITS), Institutional Analysis & Planning (IAP) and other parts of the organization to coordinate, gather and synthesize data for actionable insights and informed decision-making. This includes playing a key role in data governance. They will work with key partners to understand their priorities and strategic initiatives, and develop effective and timely analytic solutions.
