ITA is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the team supporting Customs and Border Protection in Washington, D.C. This is a hybrid position, primarily remote in the National Capitol Region with the ability to be onsite in Washington, D.C.
Please note this position is contingent upon successful contract award, expected late Summer 2024.
Responsibilities:
ITA is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to leverage their expertise in statistical analysis and complex data mining to extract valuable insights from data. The Senior Data Analyst will design and deploy data-driven solutions, focusing on advanced analytical methods, data modeling, and visualizations.
In this role, the Senior Data Analyst will support U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) by providing CBP leadership with objective data and insights. As a crucial member of a team of Homeland Security professionals within the Office of Trade, the Senior Data Scientist will be involved in developing, monitoring, and coordinating data analytics projects that address significant issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing scientific methodologies, algorithms, and systems to collect and extract relevant data, insights, and information using technology, dashboards, statistical software, and reporting systems.
  • Applying data management and analysis techniques to study, interpret, develop, and report on CBP operational, policy, and resource data.
  • Evaluating and overseeing analytics projects to ensure the accuracy and relevance of implemented capabilities.
  • Supporting the integration of data, tools, and analytics projects aligned with CBP Office of Trade priorities, collaborating closely with program offices within CBP organizational elements.

This role combines advanced data analytics skills with a critical advisory function within CBP, ensuring that data-driven insights support effective decision-making and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in applied research, big data analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, data science, computer science, operations research or other closely related other quantitative or mathematical discipline.
  • Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research or other closely related other quantitative or mathematical discipline.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of data mining methods, databases, data visualization and machine learning.
  • Ability to communicate analysis techniques, concepts and products.
  • Ability to develop data-driven solutions, data models, and visualizations.
  • Required active Customs and Border Protection Background Investigation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research or other closely related other quantitative or mathematical discipline. A PhD degree may be substituted for up to three (3) years of relevant experience.
