As a Senior Data Engineer at NORDEN, you will be a key contributor in designing the overall data architecture, implementing scalable data solutions and establishing data governance standards. With your previous experience, you will also act as a mentor for non-senior colleagues.
This role is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
YOUR COMPETENCES AND CORE QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, we are looking for someone who brings experience, initiative, and a strategic perspective to the team. You should have:
- 5+ years of experience in data integration and data modelling.
- Experience with data modelling in a Lakehouse architecture, such as Microsoft Fabric, Synapse workspaces, and Databricks.
- Experience with Delta Tables and medallion architecture.
- Experience with SQL and PySpark.
- Experience with code versioning in Git.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and task breakdown.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles.
Additionally, prior experience in decision-making related to data architecture, technology selection, and implementation is highly valued. This role calls for a professional who is comfortable navigating both the technical and strategic dimensions of data engineering.
Previous experience with the Microsoft SQL BI stack (SSIS, SQL, SSAS) will be an asset but is not an essential requirement .

THE TASKS THAT AWAIT YOU
More specifically you will as Senior Data Engineer, take ownership of tasks such as:
- Integrating diverse datasets: Combine and process internal and external data sources to create meaningful insights.
- Transforming data into actionable insights: Develop KPIs, metrics, and features for advanced analytics and machine learning models.
- Collaborating with stakeholders: Engage with non-technical stakeholders to understand and solve business needs through technical solutions.
- Leading technical projects: Oversee data capture, validation, enrichment, and support activities to ensure high data quality and usability.
- Lakehouse framework development and management: Creating, maintaining, and optimising our data Lakehouse environment.
- Code review and quality assurance: Maintaining and enhancing the quality, reliability, and performance of the data engineering codebase.
