Description:

INTRODUCTION

Our client is looking to build and grow their Data technical practice and are therefore looking for an experienced Data Engineer to lead client engagements and teams. You will have a strong technical background as well as experience with technical implementation and delivery.
They are looking for someone who is very confident with the full Azure stack, leading client engagements and leading/mentoring teams. You will have designed/architected Azure data solutions within a Consultancy environment.
You will be expected to do a technical and coding test so please ensure you are comfortable in a technical role before applying.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience within a Consultancy environment as a Data Engineer.
  • Leadership/mentoring experience.
  • Requirements capture and ability to translate those requirements into viable solutions.
  • Architecture/Design experience.
  • Proven experience in at least some of the following: Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse (and data warehousing approaches) or SSIS, Azure Analysis Services or DataOps.
  • Programming experience of SQL, Python, Spark, DAX or C#.
  • DevOps practices (CI/CD, GIT, Terraform etc.)
  • Comprehensive and demonstrable experience in DevOps practices.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client engagements within the Critical National Infrastructure environment.
  • Manage Data Engineering teams to deliver data solutions for clients.
  • Architect data landscapes that to reflect data strategies.
  • Understand and translate end-user requirements into designs and delivery plans for effective data solutions.
  • Design, develop, execute, frameworks for managing the build of pipelines using cloud technologies.
  • Manage teams in supporting technical implementations and resolve data quality issues.
  • Manage the development of best practice within the Data Engineering practice.
  • Take a lead role in mentoring and developing others in the team and inspire them through commitment and enthusiasm.
  • Work with Azure team leads to ensure best practice implementations.
  • Build an inclusive team culture focusing on service excellence and exceptional performance.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of documentation and processes.
