JOB DESCRIPTION

EMPLOYER: Delta Dental Insurance Company
TITLE: Senior Data Engineer

SALARY RANGE: $122,450/YR - $146,960.08/YR

Job Description: Interpret business requirements to derive technical solutions via systems analysis, design, and prototyping. Determine best business/technical solutions to meet client needs ensuring the ability to meet users’ implementation time frames. Translate functional specifications into technical designs and mapping documents. Develop ETL solutions using SAP Data Services, PL/SQL. Perform Unit Testing, Segment Testing, Performance Testing, and support End-to-End testing. Deploy code to higher environments. Develop scripts to productionalize ETL jobs and automate repetitive tasks. Telecommuting permissible from any location within the US.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related ETL Development/Data Engineering role.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $122,450.00 - $146,960.08

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in Relational Databases to at least one of the following; Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake;
  • Able to comprehend entity relationship models, develop sophisticated queries, and update them to perform analyses according to business requirements;
  • Understanding of indexing, querying and normalization;
  • Experience in ETL tools such as Informatica or SAP Data Services;
  • Knowledge on scripting in at least one of the following: Shell scripting and/or Python;
  • Understanding Data quality and Governance; and
  • Understanding of Job orchestration and scheduling and file transmissions utility/ method to develop end to end process.
