POSITION OVERVIEW:

Blue Orange is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our talented multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for all things data engineering, modern data infrastructure practices and patterns. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in SQL and modern data technologies, understand how to drive the extraction of business requirements for data transformations, assess data quality, and have great communication skills. This candidate will work with our clients directly to help design, build, scale, and maintain production data validation systems and platforms.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role, with experience in ETL, data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouses, pipelines, modeling, and data quality validation.
  • Expert experience with data ingestion, modeling, and conformance/compliance validation.
  • Expert-level skills in SQL, statistical analysis, and data validation.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Interacts with others using sound judgment and a steady professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA or BS degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g.: computer science, statistics).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, specifically corporate loan processing, risk and reporting experience a plus.
  • R, Python, Scala, SPSS, Teradata, SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker pluses.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team and stakeholders to define data source, accuracy, and validation requirements.
  • Build, maintain, and data ingestions, data models, orchestrations, transformations, and validation tests.
  • Work with source data systems to extract and prepare data for analytics and testing.
  • Work with technical and business teams to evolve the data architecture.
  • Work within an Agile environment to constantly deliver value for our clients.
  • And other requests as directed by your manager.
