WHAT WE NEED:

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines for our utility customers. They will work closely with project managers, business analysts, and testers to deliver best-in-class data analytics solutions.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data build tool (dbt) and Snowflake (or similar)
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Understanding of data governance and security best practices

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and processes
  • Deep knowledge of the modern analytics stack
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Experience with a modern cloud data warehouse
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in similar role
  • Experience working in a software development environment

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data engineers
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of ELT pipelines on Snowflake
  • Collaborates with different stakeholders to understand business requirements
  • Implement data engineering best practices within your designated agile pod
  • Creates a library of reusable templates in dbt
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for data analytics best practices
  • Provides documentation for various audiences
  • Participates in discovery and requirements gathering discussions as a technical subject matter expert
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required.
