JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Manager to lead and optimise data governance processes, manage a team of data analysts and developers, and drive the delivery of data and enterprise reporting. This role will focus on enhancing the acquisition, availability, performance and accuracy of enterprise data, ensuring timely and reliable delivery of data, driving innovation in data analytics and leading data-driven projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of data governance frameworks, a solid background in banking risk data, and extensive experience in optimising enterprise performance and operational reporting and analytics.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in data management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior role, preferably within banking, financial services, or risk management.
  • Data Governance Expertise: In-depth understanding of data governance principles, frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK), and regulatory requirements, particularly within banking and financial institutions (e.g., RDARR/BCBS 239).
  • Banking Risk Data Management: Extensive experience working with banking risk data (credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk), with an understanding of key banking regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Operational Reporting Optimisation: Experience in optimising operational reporting systems, enhancing performance, and ensuring timely delivery of key metrics related to banking risk and financial performance.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering innovative data-centric projects, including planning, execution, resource management, and risk mitigation.
  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with data management tools, technologies, and platforms (e.g., ETL processes, data warehouses, SQL, data visualisation tools). Knowledge of data modelling, business intelligence, advanced analytics, visualisation and reporting tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data issues and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or similar certifications in data governance or project management are highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Financial Services regulatory frameworks and experience in risk reporting and compliance.
    Ability to travel within EU and UK without an additional visa is a must.
