What is the overall job?
The Senior Data Product Manager is responsible for managing the end to end lifecycle of global BI and data initiatives and products, from ideation and requirements gathering, product launch, optimisation and ongoing business value.
The role reports to the Head of data and is responsible for executing enterprise digital transformation goals and leveraging enterprise data assets, and emerging AI and ML technologies to deliver against global strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end product management lifecycle for BI and data products. The lifecycle includes ideation, requirements gathering, prioritisation, collaboration with development and delivery teams, product launch, adoption, and optimisation.
  • Collaborate closely with Head of Data and other business stakeholders including the Digital Transformation Office, data business teams and senior execs, to define data product vision, strategy and governance.
  • Create and manage the data product roadmaps to outline the product strategy, priorities, and organise deliverables.
  • Manage data product backlogs and document requirements on the scrum board. Work closely with the Senior Project Manager to schedule and manage workload in Sprint cycles and problem solve blockers.
  • Ensure products have quality applied throughout their lifecycle and business analysis is successfully undertaken to support value driven business data products.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager and Senior Project Manager to ensure that testing processes are incorporated and scrupulously applied within the development cycle.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Proven track record of success within a senior Product Management position in a data environment, responsible for a range of data products, delivering business value and benefit. Industry experience
  • Creation and execution of product strategy and roadmaps, bringing innovative data solutions to life that exceed expectations.
  • Effective application of product performance metrics and a background in data-driven decision making. Experience of setting and managing KPIs, OKRs or other measurement frameworks.
  • Strong experience working closely with development and quality teams, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical product requirements.
  • A broad understanding of data technologies including architecture, storage principles, analytics tooling, rules and processing principles and data modelling.
  • Ability to switch between strategic visioning and detail, being the authority in all aspects of appointed data products.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills with the ability to express yourself clearly and articulately, both orally and in writing.
