We are seeking an experienced senior AI Scientist with a focus on optimisation to drive the design, development, and deployment of AI-based solutions for supply chain decision-making. This role requires deep expertise in optimisation techniques and AI, with a proven ability to solve complex industry challenges.
DESCRIPTION
The Senior Data Scientist will lead the creation and implementation of AI-driven optimisation solutions aimed at improving strategic, tactical, and operational decisions in supply chain management. The role involves applying advanced optimisation techniques, commercial algorithms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives. Mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement will be central to this position. Key responsibilities include: - Leading the design and deployment of AI-driven optimisation solutions for supply chain decision-making. - Applying techniques such as linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and constraint programming to create scalable solutions. - Customising commercial optimisation algorithms to address unique business challenges. - Collaborating with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to optimise workflows. - Mentoring junior team members in optimisation and fostering a culture of innovation. - Translating complex business objectives into mathematical models. - Proactively addressing bottlenecks in optimisation to balance performance, cost, and efficiency. - Managing stakeholder expectations in ambiguous environments while driving impactful solutions.
- PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience applying AI and optimisation techniques to solve complex industry problems.
- Expertise in optimisation methods such as constraint programming, linear programming, mixed-integer programming, heuristics, and meta-heuristics.
- Proficiency with solver libraries, and related(e.g., CP solvers, Gurobi, CPLEX, or custom solvers).
- Proven experience leading optimisation projects from conception to deployment.
- Strong mentoring skills, fostering team proficiency in optimisation methodologies.
Ability to navigate complex environments and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of delivering efficiency-driven solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with optimisation in supply chain, logistics, including transportation, inventory, and network design.
- Familiarity with simulation techniques and integrating optimisation with machine learning models.
