About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to work with challenging and exciting analytics problems, supporting the client, and make a positive impact to the business, while engaging with a global team of technology experts and engineers. This will involve gaining substantial experience working with our data systems to develop state-of-the-art data science solutions for our business’s data problems.

Reporting to the Principal Data Scientist, you will support the data analytics team to design and continually improve services that solve business problems and provide insight to making improved decisions:

  • Understand the business context and problem, and perform exploratory analysis of data sets to develop and refine preliminary hypothesis
  • Provide expertise on statistical, mathematical, and machine learning concepts (including GenAI) and conduct research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms and predictive statistical models
  • Engineer data pipelines from source systems to predictive models
  • Develop interfaces that visualize information for business users
  • Contribute to project scoping by estimating technical effort and propose approach
  • Lead technical development of the project, Coach and mentor junior members

You will also support the data analytics team to:

  • Ensure best in class processes and techniques are used to develop and deploy data analytics solutions to the business; Make all development easily accessible and reusable by the broader analytics community
  • Ensure the quality assurance and quality control of all data analytics products released to the business
  • Capture and record the intellectual property generated; provide training and knowledge transfer
  • Engage with clients and key stakeholders to build their understanding of data analytics and help them prioritize by advising technical complexity of identified opportunities
  • Foster an innovative and “disruptive” technology culture to identify and drive value creating opportunities

About you:
You will ideally have a masters either in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another quantitative field, combined with 5+ years of experience in data science projects, preferably using agile methodologies.

You should have experience with some or all of the below:

  • An ability to translate data into meaningful questions and insights and to communicate clearly and efficiently with the business
  • Proven analytics skills
  • Implementation of data science projects, including in production environment (desirable)
  • Experience and knowledge with the following tools and methodologies:
  • statistical and data mining techniques, advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics, including GenAI techniques
  • statistical computer languages and packages: Python (e.g. Sci-kit Learn, numpy, pandas, Tensorflow, Keras), SQL, Spark/PySpark, etc.
  • Visualizations tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) and Python libraries
  • Web interface (e.g. React, Dash, Plotly, Streamlit)
  • Cloud environement (Azure / AWS) and web services (e.g. S3, Redshift, OpenAI, etc.)
  • Good organizational skills and time management, experience with Agile methology and tools (e.g. ADO, JIRA, etc.)

In addition, it would be a bonus if you have the following skills:

  • Software engineering experience
  • Experience of work with production systems, experience in deployment of projects in production
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles
  • Ideally Bilingual, French and English
