  • Core skills in: Linear algebra, hypothesis testing, Bayesian methods, regressions, maximum likelihood estimation, regressions, parametric and non-parametric estimation methods
  • 3+ years of Hands-on experience with data analysis and the development of intelligent algorithms, ideally in the retail or consumer products industries
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and confidently applying appropriate analytics tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
  • Experience with Big Data environments and NoSQL (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Hive)
  • Independent and team-oriented, you drive topics forward and convince with reliability and conscientiousness
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities:

  • Developing mathematical models in the area of machine learning and statistical learning that describe the effects of prices and promotions on purchasing behavior, including behavioral price effects
  • You are able to find and apply a middle ground between the use of flexible modern AI methods and proven classical methods
  • You will develop systems for optimization and “experimental design” that find the best strategies for each product
  • To ensure the accuracy of our models, you develop model validation (back-testing) methods to quantify the impact of our solutions on our clients’ business
  • You work with product management to generate ideas and quickly turn them into efficient, well-tested, working code (in the Data Science area, we mainly use R and Python)
  • In collaboration with the engineering team, you contribute to the development of highly scalable solutions
  • You act as a Data Science expert both within the company and for our customers.
  • This includes:
  • Performing custom analytics and connecting to actionable business, inventory, and pricing strategies
  • Prioritizing the development of new features by evaluating potential impacts
  • You will act as a point of contact for data science-related questions about our product
