Description:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related role, preferably within the banking sector.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of data analytics, statistical modelling, and data mining.
- Proficiency in programming and data manipulation languages and expertise in Machine Learning libraries in Python such as: Scikit Learn, Keras, TensorFlow
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience with machine learning techniques and predictive analytics is an advantage.
- Experience in applied Data Science (supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised learning).
- Advanced statistical modelling and programming skills preferable.
- Knowledge of data governance practices and data management principles.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist or Advanced Data Analyst to join our team, bringing expertise in data analytics within the Irish retail banking environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leveraging data to drive business insights and support decision-making across various banking functions. Prior experience and knowledge of machine learning models, will be considered a significant advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Analytics and Insights:
- Analyse business requirements to assess the data impacts and define reporting requirements in conjunction with other Business stakeholders.
- Conduct data exploration on both structured and unstructured data sources, ensuring that data is interpreted accurately and effectively.
- Develop visualisations and compelling data narratives to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, assess data impacts, and define reporting needs.
- Work closely with the business to develop improved data processes and reporting standards, ensuring a consistent and reconciled data source for management information (MI), analytics, and reporting.
- Lead the development and testing of Proof of Concepts related to data mapping, reporting, and analytics solutions.
- Data Modelling and Machine Learning:
- Apply statistical modelling, data mining, machine learning, and predictive analytics techniques to generate business insights.
- Build, validate, and deploy machine learning models to solve moderately complex business problems, optimizing their performance and impact.
- Stay up to date with the latest data science techniques and technologies, integrating new approaches where beneficial.
- Data Governance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure data quality by validating and cleansing data as needed.
- Provide recommendations for data process improvements and governance practices.
- Understand how data is organized within various database and file management systems and manage access appropriately.
