Title: Senior Data Scientist - Panama Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science and AI Competency, driving impactful solutions for large enterprise clients. In this role, you will apply advanced machine learning and statistical analysis to solve complex business problems. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovation and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights aligned with business goals.
This is a mostly remote position and relocation is not available. You must currently live in Panama. You must be a Panamanian citizen or be authorized to work in Panama without sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Client Consulting and Strategy: Partner with enterprise clients to understand their business challenges and architect scalable, AI-driven solutions that integrate with their data infrastructure.
• Model Development and Deployment: Design, develop, and deploy predictive and prescriptive models using advanced machine learning and statistical techniques, managing the entire model lifecycle to ensure performance and scalability.
• Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to influence business strategy.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to define project objectives. Lead and mentor data science teams, fostering their growth through training and guidance.
• Sales Enablement: Collaborate with leadership and sales teams to create data science collateral and present technical capabilities to prospective clients.
• Advanced Analytics Solutions: Craft advanced analytics solutions tailored to business problems, leveraging a deep understanding of industry trends and organizational dynamics.
• Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay updated with new theories, strategies, and best practices in the industry, and think beyond current knowledge to develop innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
• Expertise in Python, with proficiency in libraries such as Pytorch, Huggingface, Scikit-learn, OpenCV , Flask, and Pandas.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience building and using REST APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques.
• Experience with NLP, time series forecasting, computer vision, and other supervised/unsupervised learning techniques.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience leading large-scale production modeling projects.
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with MLOps practices and A/B testing.
• Strong background in data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
