As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing models to detect, quantify, and localize emissions. You will collaborate with the technical team and various stakeholders to create solutions that help our customers reduce emissions to shape a more sustainable future. This position may be located in the United States or Canada.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of data science experience in the software industry.
- Experience in atmospheric sciences and physics-based modeling.
- Highly proficient in Python development.
- Extensive experience with Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, Tensorflow, JAX, and other Python-based libraries.
- Experience with Plotly, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and other data visualization libraries.
- Strong exploratory data analysis skills and ability to answer complex questions in a data-driven manner.
- Familiarity with MLOps tooling such as DVC and MLflow.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their usage.
- Familiarity with AWS and IaC tooling such as Terraform.
- Experience authoring SQL queries and working with relational data stores such as Postgres.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex physics-based atmospheric models capable of detecting, quantifying, and localizing emissions in a variety of physical environments.
- Author high-quality and easy-to-understand Python code that adheres to industry best practices and established coding conventions.
- Support our customer success team by investigating and analyzing interesting scenarios in production data.
- Evaluate, compare, and improve the performance of various algorithms and models using ground-truth controlled-release data.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of the solution and reduce overall cost of operation (e.g., vectorization, parallelization, hardware acceleration).
- Participate in the code review and PR process and provide feedback and mentorship to peers.
- Author unit tests and integration tests to increase code coverage and ensure a stable and reliable product.
- Monitor, tune, and debug existing models in production.
