ABOUT THE ROLE

VALD is building the world’s largest musculoskeletal database, with over two billion data points and counting. Using this data, we can help practitioners to objectively assess patients’ progress and make more accurate, data-informed treatment decisions. We are looking for an experienced data scientist to join our growing team and build the technical foundations for VALD’s future growth.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Develop, test and deploy machine learning models for applications such as outlier detection, rehabilitation trajectory modeling, and predictive device maintenance.
  • Enhance VALD’s text-to-SQL generative AI tool in Databricks Genie, empowering internal stakeholders to unlock the value of our data.
  • Create and optimize reporting dashboards in Databricks AI/BI Dashboards and Power BI to surface critical insights for VALD’s Product and Commercial teams.
  • Automate the analytics pipeline to establish a normative data repository, enabling practitioners to easily benchmark patients’ performance against a reference group.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis to support various initiatives across VALD, including patient rehabilitation analytics and customized normative data reporting.
  • Own and maintain the data science codebase, implementing best practices in development life cycle management and source control.
