Ecosurety are looking for a talented individual to lead our data engineers and analysts on an interim (6 month) basis. We require someone who is highly organised, can manage multiple projects and stakeholders and has expert data engineering and analytics knowledge. They will help us scale our data services whilst bringing efficiencies and optimisation to our data.

The primary responsibility will be around 3 key areas:

  • Day-to-day management of our Data Engineering team (3 people) and 2 Data Analysts. These roles support the business and wider internal data analytics community.
  • Project management of key data projects.
  • Deliver data technology stack optimisation.

The role will report to the “Compliance and Data Director” and will require someone who is proactive, can work across multi-discipline teams and be confident liaising and presenting to people at all levels.

Job Description

The successful candidate will take a leading role in enabling Ecosurety, and our clients, to make more informed data led decisions around packaging compliance and associated environmental options. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver our data and reporting infrastructure.
  • Lead and manage the data engineering team and 2 central analysts, fostering collaboration and ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop new opportunities and improve service delivery
  • Coordinate daily operations and ensure the teams are equipped to deliver high-quality services that meet compliance requirements.
  • Management of a roadmap for data and analytics development to allow focus.
  • Manage and prioritise team workloads to meet project deadlines.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders, ensuring they are managed effectively, and that communication is timely and informative.

Person Specification

  • Experience leading data product development.
  • Excellent project management skills, preferably to a recognised standard.
  • Strong data engineering skills with Azure, Snowflake, Python and Power BI experience highly preferred.
  • A data engineering leader, ideally with 6+ years’ experience, and a proven track record of value-add deliveries using data.
  • Experience designing and launching a data platform or software tool.
  • Experience with Azure Landing Zone.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple deliveries with conflicting priorities.
  • Able to build trusted and credible relationships with stakeholders, your peers and the wider business.
  • Proactive and fast learner, able to take on complex regulatory information quickly.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills are a pre-requisite.

Package

  • £75k per annum, 6-month fixed term contract
  • Options for part time working
  • 28 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, pro rata

  • Hybrid working: Employees are expected to work with colleagues (primarily at the office) at least 50% of the month
