JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in managing SQL, Oracle JDE, SAP Business One, and SAP ECC6 databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization of these critical systems. You will work closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless database operations, data integrity, high availability, and security compliance across all database environments.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications or degrees are preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience managing SQL Server, Oracle JDE, and SAP databases (SAP Business One, SAP ECC6) in enterprise environments.
- Database Platforms:
- SQL Server: Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, performance tuning, and high availability setups.
- Oracle JDE: In-depth knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards database administration, including performance tuning, system upgrades, and integrations.
- SAP ECC6 & Business One: Proven experience managing SAP ECC6 and SAP Business One databases, with a focus on database optimization, system replication, and SAP module integration.
- Performance Optimization: Advanced skills in database tuning and query optimization, including indexing, partitioning, and system resource management.
- Backup & Recovery: Strong experience in implementing and managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions across SQL, Oracle JDE, and SAP platforms.
- Security & Compliance: Familiarity with database security best practices, including encryption, access control, and compliance management (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA).
- Cloud Experience: Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud) and experience with cloud migrations for enterprise ERP systems.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate routine database administration tasks.
- Data Migration: Extensive experience with cross-platform data migrations, upgrades, and consolidation, including ERP systems (JDE, SAP).
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues in a timely manner.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams and liaise with stakeholders across IT and business units.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications in SQL Server (MCSE), Oracle JDE (OCP), or SAP ECC6 are highly desirable.
- Experience in cloud infrastructure and database management in hybrid cloud/on-premise environments.

Responsibilities:
- Database Administration: Administer and maintain databases for SQL Server, Oracle JDE (JD Edwards), SAP Business One, and SAP ECC6, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.
- Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning SQL queries, Oracle databases, and SAP database instances to meet the needs of business applications.
- Oracle JDE Support: Manage Oracle JD Edwards databases, ensuring proper integration with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and optimizing database environments for efficiency.
- SAP ECC6 & Business One Administration: Support SAP ECC6 and SAP Business One environments, including database tuning, backups, and upgrades, to maintain smooth operation of SAP systems.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies across SQL Server, Oracle JDE, and SAP systems to ensure data protection and minimize downtime in case of failures.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions to ensure 24/7 availability of mission-critical databases.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all databases meet industry security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), including role-based access control, encryption, and auditing of sensitive data.
- Data Migration & Upgrades: Lead database migrations, upgrades, and patching projects, particularly involving the transition between different database platforms and ERP systems.
- Automation: Automate repetitive database tasks such as monitoring, backups, and maintenance using scripting and database management tools to improve efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Serve as the go-to expert for resolving complex database issues, conducting root cause analysis, and providing solutions to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Capacity Planning: Forecast and plan database growth, ensuring scalability and optimal resource allocation for SQL, Oracle, and SAP environments.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and business stakeholders to support database needs, while maintaining comprehensive documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Leadership: Provide technical guidance to teams working on database-related projects, promoting best practices in database administration.
