Senior Database Administrator

We’re looking for an experienced Database Administrator to help us fine-tune and optimize our SaaS platform running on the latest version of SQL Server. DATABASE ADMINISTRATION (AT LEAST 3 YEARS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE)

Strong skills in backup and recovery, data integrity enforcement, and database security best practices.

CLOUD EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in managing databases hosted on cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on scalability, security, and resilience.

EXPERIENCE IN A SAAS ENVIRONMENT

Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in a SaaS-based platform, especially regarding database scalability and performance.

THE SCOPE OF YOUR ROLE

At e-conomic, our database infrastructure is centered around a Microsoft SQL Server 2022 cluster, running on Windows, hosted in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that is setup for high availability and resilience with regular backups. This instance is the focal point of our operations, supporting our SaaS platform.
In addition, we maintain SQL Servers for various test environments, PostgreSQL databases for production use, and MongoDB instances that, while less central to the DBA role, are also part of our team’s responsibilities. This diverse database environment offers a dynamic and challenging landscape for our DBA who is embedded in our Site Reliability Engineering team.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will be in the driver seat of managing our main production databases and its various test instances. The main focus is to assure reliability, auditability, as well as our RTO at 12 hours and RPO of 10 minutes.
