Description:

This is your opportunity to play a central role in analyzing the performance of gaming content deals and partnerships within Microsoft’s high-profile videogame business. The Global Business Development Team is hiring a Senior Deal Analytics Lead based in the United States. As Team Xbox, we are on a mission to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet. We deliver on that vision by putting players at the center, enabling you to play the games you want, with the people you want, anywhere you want. We work with gaming publishers, developers, platform, and technology partners from around the world to bring Xbox and Windows games and services (e.g., Game Pass, xCloud) to Microsoft’s customers.
You will lead a deal and business analytics function within the Global Content Business Development team that executes partnerships with third-party gaming publishers and developers of all sizes. In this role, you will make us smarter and more efficient globally – you will play a central part in analyzing and tracking the performance of all deals and partnerships, creating and distributing performance status dashboards and heat maps, creating internal Power BI tools, making forward-looking recommendations and improvements, inventing and architecting new deal and agreement paradigms, and driving internal and external reporting and implementation. You will also be responsible for modeling new programs and incentive structures, analyzing partner economics, and evaluating future business opportunities from a Microsoft and partner perspective. Overall, you will shape the assumptions and fundamentals of Microsoft’s gaming strategy as a member of the broader Xbox team across various gaming initiatives.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, or related field AND 5+ years relevant work experience (e.g., investment banking, consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, or related field)
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Analytical, modeling, Power BI, communication and customer/partner relationship skills.
  • Knowledgeable about all forms of interactive entertainment and experience/interest in the console and PC gaming industry.

ADDITIONAL/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, or related field AND 7+ years relevant work experience (e.g., investment banking, consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, or related field)
  • OR Master’s/Advanced Degree in Business, Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, or related field AND 5+ years relevant work experience (e.g., investment banking, consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, or related field)
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of game developers, publishers, and their needs.
  • Experience in business intelligence, or analytics and planning with a proven track record for success.
  • Solid business acumen and ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Executive presence, confidence and maturity.
  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Cross-functional work experience within business development, finance, and marketing.
  • Additional language fluency a plus.
    Business Development IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.

  • Work with partner management, business development, finance, engineering, marketing, and planning to drive relevant business modeling, forecasting, planning, post-launch success validation, reporting, and tool introduction efforts.
  • Analyze opportunities and create strategies that will drive revenue growth and shareholder value.
  • Work with management across the US, Europe, Asia, and the Americas to shape our games business strategy and policies.
