Description:

Forseven, a revolutionary company is looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, are seeking a Senior Design Engineer – Electric Powertrain to join our highly skilled and dynamic Vehicle Electrification Team. This role will be reporting into the Engineering Manager – Powertrain Design.
The role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.
As part of a high performing engineering team, this role will be focused on the design and integration of components and systems for high voltage powertrain systems into high volume automotive production programmes. The role may additionally work on R&D and development projects, whilst also mentoring and developing junior colleagues within the group. Further responsibilities include collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of efficient, and reliable systems that meet attribute targets for cost, quality, durability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electric powertrain systems for battery electric vehicles, including thermal management systems, EDU, transmission and driveline integration along with associated components.
  • Deliver design concepts and agreed content to meet the needs of the Vehicle Line Manager for Vehicle Programme Requirements.
  • Package and integrate sourced in components
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses, simulations, and modelling to optimise powertrain performance, efficiency, and thermal management.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to integrate powertrain components seamlessly into vehicle architecture whilst achieving vehicle attributes.
  • Specify system-level testing, validation, and debugging to ensure powertrain performance meets design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead design reviews, technical discussions, and brainstorming sessions to drive innovation and continuous improvement in powertrain design.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in electric vehicle technology, industry trends, and best practices to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure the successful production launch of powertrain components and systems.
  • Create and/or contribute to the development of technical documentation, specifications, and standards related to powertrain design and integration.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams, providing expertise and guidance on powertrain-related issues and initiatives.
  • Support ongoing vehicle testing, validation, and calibration activities, including field testing and prototype evaluations.
  • Create and/or contribute to DFMEAs.
  • Manage concerns using our fault management system.
