Description:
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate for the Senior Design Engineer role will possess a unique blend of industry experience, strong time management and coordination skills, and a comprehensive understanding of heat networks and district energy centres, essential for driving our constant improvement process.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Heat Pump Expertise – Commercial and domestic heat pump experience.
- Industry Experience – At least 10 years in HVCA mechanical/electrical design, engineering consultancy, or mechanical installations.
- Qualifications – Minimum HNC qualification; ideally Chartered or working towards Chartership (company support available).
- Technical Skills – Proficiency in design packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, and COMSOF.
- Regulatory Knowledge – Strong understanding of industry regulations, CP1, M&E design, heat networks, and utility services.
- Specialist Experience – Plantroom design, electrical design, and design coordination

Work Location: Hybrid remote in London, SE1 8P
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within the design team on new projects and enhancements to existing designs.
- Report to the Principal Design Manager, coordinating design priorities with clients and project deliverables.
- Optimise designs for both ambient and traditional heat networks to ensure CP1 compliance.
- Produce calculations, specifications, and technical submittals.
- Provide technical support to the operations department.
- Liaise with client design teams and contribute to design development through to construction issue drawings.
- Assist with the production of Revit 3D models (currently outsourced).
- Update and provide basic 2D CAD drawings, supported by a CAD technician.
- Ensure compliance with CIBSE and HNTAS standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in design and innovation.
