SUMMARY:
The Senior Designer supports the business with design and drafting activities as part of the Engineering team. This critical role will make a big impact on the evolution of the Certarus equipment platform, influencing design philosophy and packaging approach for future equipment builds.
The position reports to the Engineering Manager - Equipment and is based primarily in the Calgary corporate office. Travel to field or office locations, in both Canada and the USA, may be required from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical degree/diploma or certificate in Engineering Design or Piping Design, or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in a design role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in developing 3D conceptual models, and complete, accurate, fabrication drawings considering manufacturing GD&T.
- Experience with packaging of rotating equipment, including piping, electrical, and control systems preferred.
- Demonstrated success in fast paced cultures and hands-on environment.
- Proficient in product development and 3D design software (Autodesk Inventor, BricsCAD /w CADWorx preferred).

Responsibilities:
- Promote a proactive and positive safety culture within Certarus and its suppliers.
- Work with Equipment Engineering team, developing equipment design packages for next generation of equipment, improving manufacturability, operability, reliability, and cost.
- Generate and manage the library of models and detailed drawings including P&IDs, PFDs, ISOs, skids, and general arrangements.
- Validate existing models and drawing packages, identify gaps in design documentation, and support execution efforts to ensure fleet documentation is complete and accurate.
- Develop drawing packages to support field implementation of equipment retrofits and Engineering MOC initiatives.
- Support Sales and Operations teams, developing site layouts detailing appropriate equipment deployment and site layouts.
- Visit manufacturing shop and field sites as needed to create and/or validate models and drawings.
- Lead design efforts and help execute one consistent approach for software and IT related to drawings and design of all Certarus products.
- Act as primary point of contact for 3rd party design personnel, major equipment vendors, and fabrication partners, to align various design efforts with the execution strategy.
