JOB DESCRIPTION: HOSPITALITY SENIOR DESIGNER

We are presently searching for a Senior Designer of Hospitality for our London Studio.
The Senior Designer is responsible for leading all design phases for interiors projects, establishes the vision, leads the team, and has extensive client interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • 8+ years’ Proven experience in luxury and premium Hotel and F&B Hospitality projects.
  • Familiarity with 5-star luxury and premium Hotel design processes is highly favorable.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring teams across all project stages.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sketch-Up.
  • Creative problem solver with a keen eye for design detail.
  • Solid technical and construction knowledge, coupled with strong managerial skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, delivering exceptional results while supporting team cohesion.
  • Collaborative team player
  • Strong spatial planning skills and experience in producing drawing packages.
  • Passion for luxury & boutique design and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures.
  • A solid understanding of UK building regulations. Additional knowledge of European regulations would also be advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract administration.
  • Extensive presentation and graphic communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Dive into the heart of design excellence, overseeing high-profile hospitality projects from concept to realization.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to shape the creative vision and ensure its flawless execution.
  • Lead the charge in design research, crafting compelling narratives that drive project concepts forward.
  • Champion the integration of innovative materials and design standards, maintaining the studio’s esteemed aesthetic across all phases.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and growth, guiding and mentoring team members towards their full potential.
  • Act as the face of the studio to clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring seamless communication and project progression.
  • Monitor project progression and profitability, maintaining alignment with client expectations.
  • Direct staff to complete design and technical drawings.
  • Produce and oversee full technical drawing packs, including joinery, furniture, and construction detailing.
  • Lead design research projects and develop concepts.
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure they comply with the design solution.
  • Work with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawings.
  • Create and review all project documentation, including drawings and specifications.
  • Develop FF&E and decorative lighting proposals for all phases.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of detailing and finalize details on projects.
  • Manage the overall design budget.
  • Ensure adherence to the set budget and immediately inform the PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget.
  • Organize and conduct client interviews to determine space needs and requirements.
  • Continue to provide needed information to clients on design specifications.
