Description:

WHO WE ARE

Turner Fleischer is one of Canada’s most progressive design studios with 250+ committed, creative and driven professionals. We excel at developing client-centric concepts that are based on their needs but grounded in 50 years of experience getting projects built. Our in-house design departments include Architecture, Interior Design and Experiential Graphic Design. In addition, we have a Digital Practice Department, who commits to the implementation of BIM, research + development, and the infusion of cutting-edge technology into our projects and practice.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Senior Designer, your role extends your experience, granting you a higher degree of autonomy and increased involvement with external stakeholders. Skillfully blending creativity with technical proficiency, you will contribute significantly to projects prioritizing aesthetics and functionality. While collaborating within project teams and engaging with external stakeholders, you will also begin to take on the responsibility of reviewing the work of others. This position empowers you to apply your knowledge of design principles and software tools to advance innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage BIM to develop detailed plans and construction documents, create spatial concepts, floor plans, and schematics, generate visual representations and 3D models for stakeholder communication, and research materials for design objectives, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the project.
  • Coordinate project deliverables with external stakeholders, review documents for accuracy and completeness, identify issues, and propose feasible solutions to ensure alignment and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in the Contract Administration process by promptly revising drawings, preparing change documentation, attending site meetings, and providing feedback to ensure accurate incorporation of changes and compliance with project specifications.
  • Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment with project objectives. Represent the design team in external meetings and support collaborative progress.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of building codes, by-laws, and regulations to ensure design decisions align with the latest standards and requirements.
  • Identify and communicate project risks in accordance with TF’s risk management process.
  • Ensure compliance with stakeholder requirements, building codes, regulations, and design specifications.
