We are seeking an outstanding Senior Developer to join the ambitious and growing Learning Systems team within the Teaching & Learning Portfolio (Information & Digital Group).
You will provide technical leadership for the enhancement of and operational support of the University’s core VLE and auxiliary systems with a direct impact on the student learning experience.
The role holder will provide technical expertise in the development, integration and support of these platforms, troubleshooting issues and applying relevant fixes, creating new features and working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimise and provide a coherent and robust service across the University.

About You
The ideal candidate is a technically skilled and proactive professional with expertise in Moodle, lecture capture systems, and other educational technologies.
They excel in troubleshooting, integration and development, producing clean, scalable, and well-documented code to enhance the University’s digital learning platforms.
Beyond technical expertise, they are strong collaborators, familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies, engaging with the platform team to deliver on requirements, propose solutions and optimise systems. They communicate complex concepts clearly and work effectively with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure a seamless learning experience.
Adaptable and forward-thinking, they stay ahead of emerging technologies and evolving educational needs. With a customer-focused approach, they ensure the VLE and related tools remain robust, user-friendly, and aligned with the University’s goals.

The Information & Digital Group is responsible for a new University Digital Strategy to support the University’s ambitions to be world-class in all it does. IDG is central to the delivery of the University strategy by providing a high quality service to all of our stakeholders, enabling the University to prioritise its requirements, and to deliver this service in a manner that maximises value at every stage.
