Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Post-secondary degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education/training (such as an advanced diploma or certificate in Information Technology/Computer Science) and related experience may be considered.
  • Experience in systems analysis, design methodologies, application development and testing in a multi-platform networked environment.
  • Experience in installation and technical troubleshooting of applications and devices.
  • Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL, DB2, or other relational databases.
  • Experience creating and/or maintaining solutions using Power Builder.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience creating and/or maintaining solutions using the Java or Microsoft technology stacks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or other business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and /or Salesforce platforms.

Duties:
The Senior Developer is accountable for developing and maintaining business applications to meet the needs of Departments by interpreting specifications for coding, testing and supporting the applications in accordance with Government of Manitoba ICT Standards and Architecture.
The Senior Developer provides functional coaching, mentoring and quality assurance reviews to Developers to ensure all standards are met. The Senior Developer has overall responsibility for the maintenance and support of 10 to 20 applications. On an annual basis the Senior Developer will coordinate the resolution of between 100 and 200 incidents, the implementation of 20 to 40 new releases, and respond to 100 to 150 requests for information.
