About the Role (your why)
We are seeking a Senior Integration Developer (contract) with 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java Spring Boot. The ideal candidate is an expert in integrating complex systems and is well-versed in DevOps practices, particularly within the banking or insurance sectors.
What you’ll do
- Integration & Microservices Development: Design and implement scalable integration solutions and microservices using Java Spring Boot, focusing on performance and resilience.
- API Security & Management: Develop secure, high-performing APIs at scale, utilizing OAuth2, JWT, and API gateways.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Leverage Docker for containerization and manage deployments with orchestration tools, ensuring service resilience.
- Service Discovery & Distributed Tracing: Implement robust service discovery mechanisms and distributed tracing using the Netflix Stack (Zuul, Ribbon, Eureka).
- Cloud & Automation: Apply cloud concepts in integration solutions and automate workflows using CI/CD pipelines and Gradle.
- Agile & ITSM Practices: Work within Agile/SaFE methodologies, adhering to ITSM practices, and actively contribute to Agile teams.
- Ownership & Collaboration: Demonstrate ownership of projects, with a willingness to support in various roles (e.g., Dev to Tester), and be open to pairing with team members.
What you’ll bring
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience in Java Spring Boot development.
- ·Expertise in Netflix Stack, containerization, API security, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud concepts, and distributed tracing.
- Experience in Agile environments and knowledge of ITSM practices.
- Proficiency with tools like Docker, Gradle, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Strong skills in building resilient and scalable solutions, with a focus on service discovery and automation.

As this is a contract based role we will only be able to consider New Zealand based candidates at this time
