WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., fundraising, nonprofit management, business administration).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fund development, with a proven track record of successfully soliciting major gifts and fundraising to meet annual revenue targets.
  • CFRE designation – Certified Fund Raising Executive.
  • Robust network and contact list of potential donors.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques, particularly in the nonprofit sector.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with donor databases, CRM and fundraising software. Fluency and a high level of experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and partners interested in supporting research initiatives in Hearing Health, scholarships, and targeted fundraising activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective donors and partners interested in Hearing Health and general activities, through personalized communication, meetings, and events.
  • Lead and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop compelling funding proposals and presentations tailored to donor interests.
  • Provide exceptional donor stewardship, including acknowledgment of gifts, recognition opportunities, and regular updates on progress and impact.
  • Research and identify grant-making organizations and major donors aligned with funding needs, including corporations, foundations, service clubs, sponsorships, government project funding and high net-worth individuals.
  • Collaborate with the Branding/Communications team to enhance the CHS Global Partnerships’ social media presence to appeal to potential donors, partners, and followers interested in supporting research and innovation efforts in Hearing Health. This includes creating clear messaging, compelling storytelling, and engaging content for the website and social media platforms, as well as creating easy-to-use donation portals and transparent reporting to attract and retain donors. Additionally, incorporate storytelling techniques to support funding efforts and strengthen partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and pursue relevant grant opportunities to support funding of Hearing Health research and major gifts.
  • Manage a portfolio of major donors, including tracking interactions, recording relevant information, and maintaining accurate records in the donor database.
  • Prepare regular reports on fund development activities, donor engagement, and revenue projections for senior leadership.
  • Develop and manage an annual fund development plan and targets for research and major gifts development plan for targeted fundraising activities.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses related to fund development activities, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and organizational priorities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff involved in fund development activities, including interns and support staff as applicable.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in fund development, philanthropy, and the nonprofit sector through ongoing education, training, and participation in professional networks.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance personal and professional skills to effectively fulfill job responsibilities and contribute to the overall success of CHS.
