Description:
KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- An appropriate education (MSc. Planning / Environmental) with 7+ years in relevant roles.
- Experience in similar roles in development of solar and/or other renewable renewables projects.
- PMP or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Deep understanding of the planning process in Ireland
- Experience of working with landowners, consultants, regulators, industry bodies
- An understanding of the key policy drivers, economic levers, and related legislation facilitating the development of solar projects in Ireland.
- Excellent team player with a track record of relationship building at all levels.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.
- Good organisational skills with strong ability to multitask.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the development of a portfolio of utility-scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Ireland from inception through to Ready-to-Build stage.
- Assess project feasibility in relation to land, planning, grid, and buildability for potential sites using GIS, site feasibility design, energy yield assessment and financial modelling
- Manage appointment and deliverables of consultants and vendors to ensure industry best practice risk assessment, design and planning of projects.
- Ensure all planning submissions, appeals and RFI’s are prepared in accordance with best practice in a timely manner.
- Engaging with system operators to ensure delivery of techno-economically feasible grid connections
- Liaising with land agent, land managers, landowners and solicitors to deliver bankable land agreements
- Report to the Executive Team on a regular basis in relation to development strategy, portfolio and project risks, investment/divestment risks, project cash flow management and budgets.
- Use PM tools to keep track of all potential opportunities.
- Responsibility for ensuring clear, effective, and continuous communication on all development activities.
- Active, enthusiastic involvement in all other elements of project development including, but not limited to, commercial, HSEQ, finance and engineering.
- Positive contribution to the growth and culture of the company.
