Description:
ABOUT YOU:
We have an opportunity for an accomplished Senior Development Officer with proven experience in annual giving, planned giving and multi-year giving ($5k+) to join the growing fundraising team at United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI). You will play a leading role in visioning, planning, establishing strategic direction and delivering the major and mid-level gifts program, and will be responsible for managing a pipeline of about 300 major and mid-level donors.
Our ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of experience working on Major Gift and Mid-Level Gift fundraising for a non-profit organization, with a proven track record of success. Your excellent communication skills and strong relationship building abilities will be required to successfully manage a robust pipeline of high value donors and provide leadership on fundraising strategies that enhance revenue development, grow the number of donors, and position UWSVI as a social impact leader and charity of choice for individual donors, corporate partners, and high net-worth individuals.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL?
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Relations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a non-profit environment
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset
- 5+ years of senior fundraising experience, including a track record of achieving revenue targets, experience facilitating multi-year gifts, and demonstrated experience managing major gift and legacy gift commitments at the $5k-$100k level
- High proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and strong CRM database management experience
- BC Driver’s License required
