Description:

SUMMARY

At GroundWork Renewables, Inc., we are dedicated to accelerating the success of solar energy in utility-scale production. We seek a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and maintain a resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure that supports our mission-driven and client-focused objectives. You will play a critical role in disaster recovery planning, regular deployments, and leveraging AWS infrastructure to its fullest potential while staying on top of the latest security features and best practices.

ESSENTIAL/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer, or Cloud Engineer role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will take a lead role in continuing to build out our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensure system reliability, and implement proactive disaster recovery strategies across our cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Proficient in AWS infrastructure and services, with a deep understanding of its capabilities, latest features, and best practices for security.
  • Expertise in disaster recovery planning and implementation, ensuring robust failover strategies and minimal downtime.
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Strong background in Linux system administration and scripting languages like Python and Bash.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, AWS ECS) and orchestration.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, or similar.
  • Proficient in using Git and GitHub for version control, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts, as well as managing repositories and collaborating with team members through pull requests and code reviews.
  • Experienced in implementing and managing secure VPN solutions for remote systems deployed in the field, ensuring reliable connectivity and safeguarding data transmission in diverse environments.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing distributed systems and applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security best practices, including securing cloud environments, data protection, and network security.
