KEY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS. THE ABSOLUTE “MUST HAVES”:

• 5+ years managing massively scaled SaaS cloud infrastructure on public cloud (IaaS) infrastructure
• Experience scaling cloud-based RDBMS systems (PostgreSQL preferable)
• Experience working with AWS infrastructure.

THE ROLE

Hi! I’m Marc, the CTO here at Kahi. We’re a VERY tight-knit, supportive team of ~20 people, mostly in Ottawa. We’re all about “big company perks with small company connection.” The well-being of our people is our TOP priority. We are looking for a leader to join our team and take ownership of our cloud infrastructure as we prepare for massive scale on a global level.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

You will be inheriting a very well built and maintained cloud infrastructure, mostly hosted in AWS and defined in Terraform (OpenTofu) configurations. From there, you will be trusted to provide guidance and direction on how we continue to scale our cloud infrastructure in order to meet the demands of massive scale. Although we have done a good job in building our current infrastructure, we are not experts and you will be expected to identify and help implement all the things we’re not doing well enough, or at all. Some examples are observability, instrumentation, KPIs, reporting dashboards, customer/partner facing status dashboards, etc. You are the expert and will build a team around you to take full ownership of this part of the business.
